Sunday of Hope South Africa
The Global Reformed Advocacy Platforms for Engagement (GRAPE) invites your congregation to participate in Sunday of Hope, a shared moment of prayer, reflection, and action as Advent begins.
This year, we will focus on two urgent themes:
- Universal Basic Income Grant (UBI): a just response to deepening poverty and exclusion.
- South Africa’s current political climate: discerning faithful, hope-filled engagement in a challenging time.
We invite you to:
- Share a short (4–5 min) video or read the accompanying script on Sunday. The video includes an overview of the political context, UBI, and a call to hope and action.
- Light the Advent Candle of Hope and offer the prayer provided .
- Encourage your members to attend our upcoming GRAPE UBI Webinar Part I ,for deeper discussion:
- Date/Time: 30 October 10h00-12h00
- Topic: UBI: Theological Imperative in South Africa

We believe this is an important moment for the Church to embody prophetic hope and practical solidarity. Thank you for helping us make this Advent Sunday of Hope a meaningful time of worship and engagement.
In hope,
